Introduction
Tamsulosin HCL is used by men for the treatment of the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. It does not shrink the prostate but actually works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and the bladder. It belongs to a group of medicines called alpha blockers.
How To Use
Take this medicine by mouth as directed by your doctor.
Swallow this medicine whole.
Do not crush, chew or open the capsules.
For dose adjustments please consult your doctor.
Usual doses are of one capsule daily.

Indications
Treatment and control of symptomatic benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate to improve symptoms.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, ejaculation disorders, hypotension, syncope (getting fainted), depression, blurred vision, rhinitis (ringing in the ear), erectile disorders, tachycardia and palpitations are the most commonly reported side effects of this medicine.
Warnings
Pregnancy
This medicine is contraindicated in pregnant females.
Lactation
Lactating females should consult their doctors before using this medicine.
Driving
It is advised to not to drive after taking tamsulosin as this medicine makes you feel dizzy.
Liver
Caution is advised. Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Kidney
Caution is advised. Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Alcohol
Please avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine.
Precautions
Caution required in elderly patients and in patients with liver and kidney impairment. Patients who are already being treated for hypertension may require reduced dosage and specialist supervision.
