Moxifloxacin is in a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. Moxifloxacin works by killing the bacteria that cause infection.
Primary Uses
Nausea ,diarrhea ,black tarry stools , tingling feelings ,chest pain ,bloating ,swelling of face ,bone pain , blood in the urine ,irregular heart beat , prolongation of QT interval ,severe diarrhea ,acute allergic reactions.
Not indicated in pregnancy. No category is assigned by FDA
Use of moxifloxacin is acceptable in nursing mothers with monitoring of infant due to its possible effects on GI 9flora of infant like diarrhea and candidiasis(diaper rash)
Its use has shown a risk of drowsiness; therefore avoid using it while driving.
